Scouting Report:

McCarty-Williams is the consummate point guard. She is a mature leader, wise beyond her years. She can score in many ways, get into the paint and drop the catchable pass with the best of them. A 3 point machine that will knock it down if given room  (43.7% 3pts in Sweden – 80 made 3s in 32 games).

Her foot quickness makes her  a capable ball hawk on defense when she picks her player up. SBL Dam DPOY award (2022)  tells you a little about her defensive ability. Plays full court defense.  Good on ball defender and plays passing lanes well.

Her character and heart on and off the court make her a GM’s dream.

The former Dallas Wings guard is a scoring type of point guard. Shoots well from anywhere on the floor and possesses a pure shot.

Has great range and can shoot comfortably off the dribble. Gets her feet set and shot off very quickly. Uses hop steps well and has a crafty playing style.  Very good touch on her floaters and all around mid game. Can get to the rim off the dribble. Exceptional hesitation move. Sells her crossover well. Moves well without the ball. Can pass out of a drive. Quick decision maker. Passes and sees the floor well. Calm demeanor. Doesn’t get rattled and plays well when pressured. Draws a lot of fouls and is a reliable free throw shooter. Quick and active hands. Averaged 3.0 steals per game during 2021/22 season.

Good ball handler. Super quick and changes directions very well with the ball. Huge competitor.

Brooke’s ability to operate out of the pick and roll is very advanced. She makes great decisions and quick reads off of ball screens and is always under control.

McCarty-Williams always plays with her head up in these situations and shows great vision in the half court and in transition.

She puts her passes on target and in spots on the court where her teammates are comfortable playing. She also does a nice job of not forcing passes and making the simple play when nothing extra is needed.

In transition, the former All-Big 12 Player of the Year  does an excellent job of leading the break and is dangerous due to her combination of vision and craftiness. When she goes to the basket, she is adept at using her body to shield herself from bigger defenders and finish through contact. She can score with both hands or dish it to open teammates to lead to an easy basket.
