Huge fourth quarter that sealed the deal for Coach Kostas Keramidas squad!

Coach Keramidas post game interview:

‘’ We found rhythm through the defense.

The truth is that we did not execute well our defensive plan till the middle of the third quarter. We weren’t concentrated.

We improved that a lot during the game, executed the details, worked very well on the defensive end, we built our rhythm and confidence from the defense and I can tell without a doubt that this was the key to our victory.

For us it’s a very important victory, because Ludovika Csata is a competitive team and we escaped with the victory from their home too in the first round, so now we have a good advantage against them, since we have a 2-0 record vs Ludovika Csata.

We had set as a goal to play as best as we could offensively and defensively and I feel very proud of my players, staff and administration, because we overcame a tough situation that we faced with Covid-19 pandemic. It hit us pretty hard, when we were on 5-2 record and we had found a good rhythm on both ends of the floor. Quarantine and National Teams window complicated the things for us, but we are determined to get back on track and I believe that my players showed tonight what we are made off as a team and showed a fighting- refuse to lose spirit.

I would like to wish health to all the teams of the League and all the Hungarian people.

Sports are very important for our society and as the NBA bubble proved first during the darkest moments of these hard times humanity facing all this last year, life goes on, life must go on and there is no better example than sports. Sports provide to human societies, not only health for human body, but most imortantly teach to our children values like Unity, Team Work and Justice.

I am new to this country, I live here the last months and I would like to take this opportunity and send my support and all our team’s support to those who were hit hard from this pandemic, who faced a family loss or still fighting with the virus.

I hope that this little example that our team and our brave players set, as they overcame a tough situation, where pretty much all our team got sick and this affected our health and psychology, because self-isolation is against human nature- could inspire or give hope or put a smile upon the face of one person.

It would be huge and the true meaning of sports.

We overcame this, life goes on and better days will come for all of us.

Tonight was a better day for us, we won the virus, we overcame some challenging situations and we come out of this stronger as one.

Just like humanity will do.

We, as VBW Cekk Cegled organization would like to thank all the doctors and nurses who had to sacrifice a lot and send our support and exhortation to all the people who still have hard times ” Hang in there”.

We will get through this.

Life will win. And better days will come.
